batteries image_berkeley article_2015A recent article in the Berkeley Science Review highlights the DeSimone lab’s collaboration with researchers at UC Berkeley to use perfluoropolyethers (PFPEs) as nonflammable electrolyte materials for lithium-ion batteries. A start-up company, Blue Current Technologies, has been launched based on the research and is featured in the article. The initial research effort was led by recent DeSimone group alumna, Dr. Dominica Wong, and Jacob Thelen, currently a fourth-year chemical engineering doctoral student in Prof. Nitash Balsara’s lab at Berkeley.
